We have a team of mentors and partners in our program that include multiple former NBA players, a former Heisman winner and NFL quarterback, and more.
Our program is committed to mentoring our players for success in life off the court as well as on it. Our mentors help them achieve their short-term basketball goals while also giving them wisdom for life. We want to equip them to be successful long term.
These men have spent time with our players, speaking to them at practice, coming to games, inviting our players to events, and even working directly with some of our players to help them out in tough situations.
I love what Atlanta Standard is doing with their program. Preparing these young men to grow on and off the court and very professional in their approach. Teaching to play at a high level on both sides of the ball. Lastly their teams compete and play the game the right way. I've had the chance to watch them in a few tournaments as well as participate in a few practices.

EXPERIENCED LEADERSHIP
Coach Justin McTeer
Co-Founder, GM, Media/Marketing Director
Coach McTeer has a unique basketball background. He spent several years covering college basketball for Bleacher Report, CBS and other media outlets. He has been a highly sought after shooting coach in the Atlanta area for many years.
His media background gives him a unique perspective on player development and exposure, understanding what scouts and recruiters look for when evaluating talent.
His full time job is being the pastor of His Hands Church in Woodstock, GA and he is a devoted husband and father.
Coach Garza has been an unbelievably successful coach in year one with our program, leading our 15U team to a 26-7 record (so far) despite having a roster of players with no experience playing together. He currently has a winning record against shoe teams.
Coach Garza played at the collegiate level at Pfeiffer University before joining the Coast Guard. He has continued to play highly competitive basketball ever since, including Pro-Am leagues.
He is a devoted husband and father, and has a successful career in the corporate world.
Coach Strech is a dedicated husband of 24 years and father of four. He's the Founder and Principal of Varcity, developing major real estate projects at Power 4 universities such as Texas A&M and Purdue. His business gives him unique connections at major colleges and universities.
Coach Strech has coached high-level basketball for several years. He has coached GHSA Class 6A high school basketball, shoe circuit travel basketball with Under Armour, and more.
Last season, Coach Strech assembled and coached the team that represented Georgia at the US Games and went on to win the championship.
Coach Kyree Torrence
17U Assistant Coach
Kyree Torrence is a basketball coach and former Georgia State Men's Basketball Student Manager with experience across the grassroots, high school, and collegiate levels.
He was part of a Sun Belt Conference Championship program and NCAA March Madness Tournament appearance, formerly coached with Georgia Stars EYBL during a top pool-play finish and Peach Jam qualification, and currently coaches at Lassiter High School, where he contributed to a Region Championship and Sweet 16 appearance.
Fun fact...NBA Champion Khris Middleton is his cousin.
